We were attending an event near Southport when we came across a swan and her five cygnets wondering along a busy road causing traffic chaos…..we set up a rolling block and managed to persuade “mum” that it much safer to use the footpath……we then escorted them along the road for a distance to a river…unfortunately the gate to the river bank was locked so we managed to lift the adult swan and her babies over the gate…..last seen waddling down the bank to the water ! A great effort considering that Baz is terrified of swans.
One of our members, Graeme Parker recently married his fiancée Geri , we couldn’t let the occasion go ‘unnoticed’ so two marshals escorted Graeme to the event (ensuring that he didn’t get cold feet at the last minute) then after the ceremony provided outriders for the happy couple travelling in a vintage Bentley. Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Parker and we wish you well in your new life together.
On behalf of Bikemarshals North West I would like to place on record our grateful thanks to Gav Bache, our friend and colleague from Midlands Bikemarshals for his kind assistance with the building of our new web-site……without his help the site would not have been published. His continued patience is immeasurable ! Thank You Gav.

During November 2013 BikeMarshals were asked to help with a fundraising charity event to showcase the work of Pancreatic Cancer Action UK to escort a ‘four-person’ bike for 12 hours round the centre of Manchester. It was hard work, we never got out of second gear but it was great fun and it was for a very worthwhile cause.
